Heavenly Vantage Point

2 Corinthians 5: 14 Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. 15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. 16 So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now!17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

The new person we are in Christ looks at life differently now that the Holy Spirit and the Word of God are available to give us that heavenly perspective. We begin to grow in leaps and bounds when we begin to see the world and ourselves as Jesus sees us. A person with no drive or purpose suddenly realizes great drive and purpose and it is heavenly focused. The Lord's prayer alone takes on a whole new look in Matthew 6:“Pray, then, in this way:

‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.11 Give us this day our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Jesus forms our communication skills even in our prayer life as we think about God in prayers in heavenly tones. Our whole focus in life changes drastically and the change is ongoing and fresh. This is the result of living in the freedom God's grace gives us to live this abundant life.

When the above scripture says "new life" it means "new life." Jesus has rewired us and we are plugged into the "source" for our power and that power changes us from the inside out. Our change is a soul level. We no longer live for ourselves, but for Jesus, and we quit evaluating others from a human point of view and look to Jesus to come from the right vantage point.

A new person means just that: a new person. Jesus is the difference and we begin to take on His character and His way of living and perceiving the world around us. Read the gospels to get a good picture of Jesus and find a new way of living that is focused on Him alone. That is where you will find that Heavenly Vantage Point.
