I like to watch a tv show called Dual Survival and they prove that one of the basic survivalist needs for anyone, anywhere is water. And not just water, but drinkable water. The only thing worse than depriving your body of water is giving it tainted water, because a new sickness comes into being that just compounds the whole water situation. Jesus gives a great lesson about salvation with water and it’s effect. Jesus speaks to the woman about”living” water and she doesn’t get it at first, but then a light comes on and she realizes her need for the water Jesus is offering. That water is holy and not tainted. It is the water of salvation and new life, and the effects of that water is eternal and lasting. John 4: 7 Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” 8 He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food. 9 The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans.[b] She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?” 10 Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” 11 “But sir, you don’t have a rope or a bucket,” she said, “and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water? 12 And besides, do you think you’re greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?” 13 Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. 14 But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
The end result of drinking the water of salvation is a new life and a new perspective on life. There is another water that satan and the world offers to all of us and it looks fine to drink but the residual effects only hurt you and others more. It is TAINTED with TAINTED reasoning, TAINTED love, TAINTED justice, TAINTED, TAINTED, TAINTED!! Sadly, many people who are making decisions in high places are making their decisions from the source of water that is fleeting and poisonous. You may ask “David are you saying that everyone who doesn’t drink of the living water offered by Jesus is deceived and going the wrong direction? Yes…..EVERYONE!! Don’t be deceived Paul said in Galatians 6:7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Right now I know we have some mocking God and they may look really strong in their argument, but they will fade away and their imprint will be temporal at best. Those who follow Jesus have eternity as their end goal and their life here on earth can impact lies for eternity and that is where our focus should be. On the eternal and not the temporal!! If we keep looking to ourselves for wisdom without referencing the Word of God we will always fall short when it comes to wisdom. So follow God and God alone!! Drinking any other water is not doing what needs to be done to make sure the source of that water is good and pure. The world offers tainted water and God offers living water. You choose!!!
