The Truth of God's Word vs Man's Opinions

Since we are in a huge spiritual battle, everything we do and say comes back to the enemy constantly trying to defeat us and sometimes it get so old dealing with him. Paul warned us about the heart of the battle and the battle for our heart in Ephesians 5:15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We must live a life of purpose and in that life allow the Holy Spirit to guide us through our daily walk. You may say "Do I need to consult God about everything?" To which the Word of God says a resounding "yes!"

There are different ways to live this life of moment by moment commitment to God and one way is to pray without ceasing as Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Never stop praying. Our attitude in prayer should reflect a desperation for knowing and following God's will only and He will answer. To be "prayed up" is a move in the right direction because it deepens that personal relationship with God, or Abba Father. These prayers of desperation for God to move in our hearts are vital to our growth and walking forward in our faith, so don't play around by praying lifeless, repetitious prayers. Matthew 6:“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! PRAY in the Spirit as it says in Ephesians 6:18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Here is how I pray in the Spirit. I begin by writing down prayer requests as God brings them to mind, and then I put God's Word with those prayer needs and let the Word reveal a "way ahead." Some call this getting " a word" from the Lord, and that is exactly how it works for me. Keep in mind God doesn't deal with everyone the same. Why? Because that would be religion, and He isn't for religious acts. God is for relationships. The more you pray, the more this relationship will grow, and the more God will show you His mysteries. Colossians 1:25 God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you. 26 This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. 27 For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.

You can also be prepared to live this life by pouring God's truth from the Word of God in your mind and heart and then you will be able to handle the attacks of the enemy with the Living Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. God's Word is the same today as it has ever been and the level of unbelief is the only thing that keeps it from living in us. Some just don't believe the Bible anymore and that is dangerous. Believing in the Word of God, not just believing the Word is a must for believers. Believing in the Word of God as a base level for our faith is a must. It is the ground floor for our salvation and ground floor for everything after that as it says in Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. 17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

What are you going to believe? The Word of God which is eternally the same or man's opinions, which change with the wind or the next trend? I'm not too smart, but even I can see my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus righteousness, He is our foundation and our cornerstone and Jesus is the Word of God. Trust Him and do not trust man's opinions. Begin today studying God's Word and not just reading mass levels of scripture and God wil show you what to do and how to do it. This is "real" life in the Spirit, and it can begin today. Trust In the Holy Spirit you were given at the moment of conversion and ask Him to speak to you and HE WILL!!

Vesselogical Out,
